GENOA 3DP Simulation

genoa_3d

AlphaSTAR’s additive manufacturing simulation software, GENOA 3DP, is an integrated computational and materials engineering (ICME) toolset that supports both production-level environments and advanced research applications.

Leveraging over three decades of expertise in micromechanics material behavior, the validated thermo-mechanical analysis is driven by printer toolpaths, process parameters, and material properties, allowing it to be scaled across different hardware and material systems. End-users are empowered with reliable models to inform decision making to help streamline AM production workflows, R&D workflows, and even hardware development workflows.

We call this PREDICTIVE DIGITAL TWIN TECHNOLOGY that customers can rely on to qualify their AM work cycle, from material to part to performance.

GENOA 3DP

GENOA 3DP is now available through the NX Platform and Simcenter 3D!  Partnering with Siemens Digital Industries Software, we’re now offering an end-to-end CAD to CAE thermo-mechanical process simulation solution for polymer 3D printing process (FDM, FFF, LFAM, SLS, etc.…). Enhance your additive manufacturing workflow with a holistic, production oriented approach to predict build quality of as-built parts considering material, design, toolpath, AM parameters, and print orientation.

BUSINESS VALUE

  • Reduce costly trial & error approach.
  • Accelerate product and material development.
  • Ensure as-built parts meet design and performance requirements.
  • Optimize print configuration and fine tune process settings before the actual print.
  • Enable an effective design for AM and engineering process.
  • Workflow available inside Siemens* NX and Simcenter 3D.
  • Develop materials for AM specific applications.

Technical value:

  • Predict thermal history, deformation, and residual stresses during the printing process.
  • Understand impact of materials, anisotropy, print path, build plate, chamber temperature, and other print parameters on the quality of the as-built part.
  • G-code / toolpath-driven explicit transient thermal solver for high resolution thermal predictions.
  • Compatible with external conformal mesh, or automatically generated toolpath-based voxel mesh.
  • Voxel mesh results can be mapped to a smooth surface mesh for visualization.
  • Connectivity with MCQ to establish a database of qualified 3D printed material properties.

Supported material extrusion AM Process:

  • Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)
  • Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)
  • Large Format Additive Manufacturing (LFAM)
  • Fused Granulate Fabrication (FGF)
